The situation

What has happened

On Monday driver Tom Bracken worked twelve and a half hours after accepting an extra drop when another vehicle broke down, a breach that is now logged in the fatigue log and the incident register. Sunita Rao is stood down pending a medical clearance. Next week's freight plan from customer service shows four metro runs and three regional runs each day, plus the Thursday Hume run and a Friday dangerous goods run. Fourteen drivers are available, two of them on light duties. The Road Freight and Fleet Manager wants a roster where no run is planned within two hours of a daily limit, rest between shifts is at least ten hours and the eastern suburbs customers are told how second drops will be handled.

Your brief. Produce a seven day driver roster that meets the fatigue management policy and Chain of Responsibility duties, record planned hours in the fatigue log, handle the breach and the stood down driver correctly, and write the customer communication about realistic delivery windows and second drops.

Evidence guide

Check every rostered day against the policy limits, including rest between shifts and consecutive shifts. The student must have used realistic run times rather than optimistic ones, avoided vehicles with open safety defects, and handled the breach and the stand down without penalising the drivers. The customer note must place responsibility for realistic windows on the chain, not on the driver.

The student's evidence summary lists every record they created or changed in the systems named above, their notes and the tasks they ticked. Verify it against the deliverables and your own assessment tool.
